Blaine561 presents: Tips And Tricks When Buying Salon Equipment

The best way to know what to purchase, how to purchase and why an equipment needs to be purchased rests entirely on what services a beauty salon plans to provide as well as the knowledge on how and what clients need and would want to spend for. Due to this reason, this guide isn’t a completely surefire walkthrough to purchasing salon equipment, and you should tailor your purchases to your needs.

1. Salon Equipment?

Beauty salon equipment covers a whole vast of terms, products and services each with its own unique functions. It also caters to an entire array of specialized needs that are distinct to the beauty salon industry some of which are hair styling, cutting, outfitting; nail care, nail spa; tanning solutions. Basic salon equipment ranges from the inexpensive to extravagant. Start-up salon ventures may find the less pricey salon equipments a better option than the costly ones. For an experienced salon owner, however, equipment that is a bit more expensive may be more beneficial.

2. Don’t Discount Discounts

Salon equipment offered at discount prices includes both used and new equipment. It is important to do research on the supplier offering discounts. There are suppliers who sometimes use the word discount just to reel in customers, but there are also valid suppliers who offer equipments at discounted prices because they were able to make purchases in bulk from factories. Such discounted salon equipments usually are of good quality and price. The key is to check how reputable the supplier is. If there is no doubt to their claim, avail of their discount and benefit from it.

3. Strike a Finance Or Leasing Deal

It won’t hurt if you try. Usually, there are suppliers who offer finance options to customers who they think are qualified enough to receive it. The benefit of making smaller monthly payments is a big advantage especially to those just testing the waters of the beauty salon business. A financing option or a leasing option deal is a great and convenient way to pay in staggered and sometimes in monthly smaller amounts while at the same time enjoying the benefits of an on-going business.

4. The New and The Used are both Beautiful

One service a beauty salon provides is catered specifically to the hair. There are various equipments needed to ensure that the hair-care service offered is carried out efficiently. Because of the varied apparatus needed for hair care, it is not necessarily important that each piece is new. Basic functional equipments such as styling chairs, mirrors, display racks, trolley carts should be of good quality and need not be too expensive or new. What is vital is that they serve their purpose and coordinate well with the brand new ones. Choosing used equipments that are in good condition is a great as well as an intelligent investment.

5. Test the equipments

Make sure that prior to actually purchasing an equipment, all the mechanisms, nooks, nuts, bolts, crannies and electrical parts are in working condition. Do not forget to ask the supplier about – and if they have – return and exchange policies. If there is no such policy present, do not be afraid to search elsewhere until you find someone that does. Establishing contacts and inquiring where suppliers get their equipments could point towards a good salon equipment deal.

6. The Wholesale Yard

There are a lot of advantages in buying wholesale. Because wholesale suppliers have a variety of brands and equipments in their possession, buyers have a whole wide of options to choose from. Wholesale suppliers usually have a huge inventory and more often than not offer intensely low discounts because of the way they purchase equipments – by the bulk. There is also an extremely high probability that wholesalers offer beauty salon equipments as clearance because of the number of equipments in their possession and with their need to liquidate the items as soon as possible. It is an excellent solution for them as well as a great benefit to those buying salon equipment.

Blaine561 presents: Menopause and Concentration

Menopause can adversely affect your ability to concentrate. It may become even more difficult to focus than before, you may also feel disorientated and experience a general state of mental confusion that is all-too-common at this mid-life transition.

These symptoms can be further exacerbated for women who have undergone a hysterectomy. Women find themselves often worrying whether or not they have forgotten to turn the iron off, or maybe they frequently forget to turn off the television before departing for work.

Menopause closely correlates with some decline in mental functions such as memory loss and the ability to clearly concentrate. Your ability to recall certain events and the ability to focus is often affected due to crucial hormonal imbalances in your system.

Estrogen regulates many female processes and plays a role in working with the neurotransmitters in the brain, sending signals to and from; in effect estrogen is responsible for maintaining healthy memory. Lost levels of this vital female hormone will quite simply affect your brain’s ability to function.

Couple this with the fact that menopausal woman are already undergoing stressful situations with numerous midlife transitions such as aging parents and children leaving home, and often women find themselves in very challenging situations.

Excessive stress can cause forgetfulness and you might feel distracted by the new range of responsibilities you have to face as you move into this next phase of life. Depression and fear over facing issues such as long-term illness, death and living alone can also result in difficulty in focusing, feelings of disorientation and mental confusion.

Remember, your concentration may be affected, but it is not as a result of getting older. It is the result of the hormonal imbalance and that can be helped significantly with natural, bioidentical hormones

Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol – both of these can significantly increase menopause symptoms. Consume hormones that speed up bodily processes, like the over-the-counter drug DHEA. DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone and is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands as well as by the brain and the skin, and is the most abundant steroid in the human body.

It has been reported that by the time we reach the age of 80 our DHEA level is only 15% of what it was when we were 25. Researchers say DHEA may prove to protect against cancer and heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol and preventing blood clots.

Recent studies also demonstrate that DHEA improves memory, strengthens the immune system, prevents bone loss and may even protect us from diabetes and autoimmune disease. It has been shown to fight fatigue and depression as well as enhance feelings of well being and increase strength. If all this sounds too good to e true, DHEA has also been reported to alleviate symptoms of menopause, reduce body fat and even enhance libido. Stay tuned for more on DHEA.

Blaine561 presents: The Shopping Splurge

Should we SPLURGE?

That is the unrequited question for womankind, isn’t it? This is quite possibly the “age old” question for the fashion savior-faire crowd of the world. The answer should come effortlessly; unfortunately we can’t all afford to say yes to every expensive pair of heels that summons us or every pricey piece that catches our eye.

What exactly is it that causes us to lose all common sense and spend more than our bank accounts or maxed out credit cards will allow? Splurging is like a drug that picks you up out of that dark hole on a bad day. It can also serve as a reward system. “I just got a promotion, why can’t I buy those pair of Manolos I’ve been hopelessly drooling over at Neiman for the past 6 months?” Sometimes it’s all about the label, sometimes it’s all about the trend, sometimes it’s just the way it makes you feel. The important thing is that it’s fun and it feels good to splurge…on occasion that is. This is where the savvy splurge comes in. A savvy splurge should be something that could be considered a “good investment.” It is these splurges that will last through the ever changing trends of the fashion world. But who is to say that the great pair of pink Ugg boots with the jewels on them or that super-cute hobo peasant skirt aren’t going to carry us through the 21st century? For all you girls out there who think every trendy piece of jewelry and every must have pair of shoes will in fact make a comeback in the year 2015, we might have a thing coming to us when those credit card companies decide to decrease our spending limits, or worse yet, suspend our cards!

So, the key to splurging is deliberation and occasion. If you’ve really thought it through and honestly, after you leave the store and come back a couple times, believe you absolutely HAVE to have that purse, go ahead and SPLURGE! Just make sure this process doesn’t tend to happen on a weekly or even monthly basis. And for those of you who don’t have the liberty of splurging on an $800 bag, stores like Forever 21, Styles for Less and even the local vintage shop or quick online clothing wholesaler come in handy for those ever-popular trends that might be over with a blink of an eye. So when you decide to take the plunge, make sure you are going to get the miles out of those pricey additions to your already fabulous wardrobe.

Happy shopping!

Blaine561 presents: Indoor Tanning Beds: How Safe Are They?

A tanning bed is a cosmetic device that emits ultraviolet radiation such as UVA and also UVB to generate artificial tanning. Historically, medical devices that emit UVA were developed and adopted for modern indoor tanning. Since UVA (Ultraviolet A of the sun) has less biological effects such as reddening of the skin than UVB (Shortwave Ultraviolet rays), these early tanning beds were considered to be “safe”. However, it was soon realized that continued use of these devices could also cause sunburns, wrinkles, skin cancer, and were not very effective at inducing tans, so they were eventually phased out. Today, devices that emit a combination of UVA and UVB are predominantly used.

One of the strongest criticisms to the use of indoor tanning beds occurred in December, 1994, when the American Medical Association (AMA) adopted a resolution calling for a ban on the sale and use of tanning equipment, except for medical purposes. However, this resolution was rejected by the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC), an organization that regulates the sale and marketing of indoor tanning equipment.

It has now been established that modern tanning beds and sun lamps typically emit about 93% to 99% UVA radiation – three times the UVA radiation given off by the sun. Tanning occurs when the skin produces additional pigment (coloring) to protect itself against burn from these ultraviolet rays. Continued exposure to UV rays can result in a number of unwanted complications such as eye injury, premature skin aging, light-induced skin rashes, and chances of developing skin cancer. UVB can even cause actual skin burning.

There are three types of common skin cancers – basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma – and they are all linked to UV radiation. The first cause, according to medical research, is mutations caused the damage inflicted to DNA. Secondly, UV also activates oxygen molecules that damage DNA and other cellular structures; and lastly, localized immunosuppression, that blocks the body’s natural ability to protect itself from cancer. The first two types – basal cell and squamous cell – are treatable if detected early but malignant melanoma is often fatal.

A study conducted in Sweden concluded that people who used tanning beds more than 10 times a year were seven times more likely to develop malignant melanoma than those who did not use tanning beds as often, establishing the fact that tanning beds are a major factor that contributes to the development of malignant melanoma.

Other studies have shown that over exposure to ultraviolet rays can also burn or damage the retina, and alter the structure of the lens forming a cataract, which if left untreated may result in complete blindness. Ultraviolet rays can also cause premature skin aging since a tan is damaged skin that is more likely to wrinkle and sag, and when in combination with certain cosmetics and medicines, may cause adverse skin reactions such as rashes and cold sores.

In spite of all the health risks associated with indoor tanning beds, it is estimated that 28 million Americans are tanning indoors annually at about 25,000 tanning salons around the country. The indoor tanning industry in the United States also continues to thrive, raking in as much as $2 billion a year.

Blaine561 presents: Using Palladium In White Gold Jewelry Means No More Allergic Reactions

White gold jewelry can cause allergic reactions in some people. This is due to the fact that the majority of white gold jewelry is manufactured using alloys containing nickel as the bleaching agent and a percentage of the population is allergic to nickel. For these individuals, contact with nickel can result in dermatological problems that range from a mild skin rash to severe open sores and permanent scaring. In Europe, there are laws governing the use of nickel in jewelry. The European law is known as “The Nickel Directive” and states that no nickel can be used in a material that sits in an open wound, such as after piercing, until healing is complete.

What is a jewelry buyer to do when faced with this information? First of all relax, most people do not have severe reactions to nickel. And jewelers are starting to use alloys that contain less nickel to develop white gold jewelry.

Some nickel-free white gold alloys were originally developed in the 1920s using palladium as the primary bleaching agent. Palladium is part of the platinum group of metals. It is a steel-white metal, does not tarnish in air, and is the least dense and lowest melting of the platinum group metals. Palladium has very good corrosion and tarnish resistance, and it mixes well with gold, offering almost complete homogenization throughout the range of gold-palladium compositions. All these factors make it a good choice for white gold jewelry manufacturing. It also yields alloys with excellent mechanical properties superior in many respects to the nickel-whites which can be difficult to work with and contain pockets of gold and nickel because the two metals don’t like to be mixed. Jewelry made from a palladium/gold alloy will not result in allergic reactions.

You might be asking: “If palladium is so much better than nickel to make white gold, why don’t all jewelers use it?” The answer is cost. Palladium is a bit more expensive to use. The cost of an ounce of palladium is around $300 currently and consumers don’t like paying higher prices for what appears to be the same jewelry product. However, once people know the facts about nickel white gold and the allergic risks it presents many are willing to pay a little more.

Another white metal on the horizon is 950 Palladium. Some jewelry manufacturers are making product from new palladium alloys that can be cast into jewelry. This is a wonderful metal because it is a bright white color, very similar to platinum, but has a much lower price. It is still relatively new so jewelers are still learning how to work best with this metal. Keep your eyes open though, because you will soon be seeing more of this product, especially with the cost of platinum currently above $1,000 an ounce.

Tips and Tricks for Higher Converting Landing Pages

Non-Stop Traffic FormulaWhen you spend some time thinking about it, it’s easy to see that the things that are responsible for whether or not a landing page converts are pretty simple. Words and graphics are what makes up every single landing page out there. What you need to figure out–and you might need a little bit of help–is how to better combine these two elements properly. You need to touch the emotions, heart and even soul of the reader. Do not confuse this with being deceptive because it is not the same thing at all. Try to remember that buying decisions are solely emotionally based and that you are selling something with your own. It’s important to learn what your audience finds the most important and what the best way to “talk” with them really is. You can find all sorts of different ways to approach the design of your landing page. There are those that are busy and those that are beautiful and those with incredibly spartan approaches to design. We’ve been noticing that the landing pages that are built for Internet Marketers are often more of the latter. Perhaps this approach is so popular because the audience is already hip to the game and only wants to get the information they need. Interestingly, landing pages designed for non IM-specific niches trend toward the exact opposite. There is one thing that is absolutely true: you don’t want to make your page so busily designed that it completely detracts from the message that you’re trying to convey. It’s important to create a really good and really effective message for your opt-in box. Try to figure out what happens when a person wants to buy and is just on the brink of making that final decision. Someone who is good at sales will know exactly what to put on the page to get the person to move in the best direction. There is a nearly identical situation on a landing page because a visitor wouldn’t have gone to the page if they weren’t interested in what was going on. Then there’s just the matter of saying what the very experienced and skilled sales people would say. Read the words written above the opt-in boxes on most of the landing pages that you find and you will see what others are doing for their clincher messages.Cross-Channel Mojo review Separate things from the typical approach that you take with your sales copy in other places on your website. Normally, you’ll rely mostly on copy (or words) to get your marketing and information messages across. Of course, on your landing page, you won’t have enough time or space to do that. Landing pages are more meant to be sweet and abbreviated. What you need to do then is make the whole thing primarily visual. There is quite a lot that you can do with your images so that you won’t have to rely completely on copy. Humans are very visually oriented, and men are more visual than women. It doesn’t really matter who is more visual because when you have a clever selection of graphics and compelling imagery you can tell quite a good story. There is much more to landing pages than people realize, and the fledgling online marketer typically has no solid clue. It is no surprise, then, when a landing page doesn’t get the job done or really underperforms for them. When you don’t have a good grasp on the unique nature of how landing pages work and all that is involved in them, you’ll just be shooting into the dark. The good news is that if you do your homework and research and implement an aggressive testing program you don’t have to let any of that get in your way.Experts Academy Online

Blaine561 presents: The Multiple Faces Of Keychain

If keys open the doors to all things that are rich and beautiful in this world, then it is not the keys but the key chains that are most powerful things of this world, for they bind the keys together. Traditional key chains are known for their exquisite craftsmanship in gold and silver while their cousins of the present era are the little marvels of technology.

The utilities of key chains limit them to indoors in large offices for obligatory reasons. Those carrying a handful of keys can also be called as key bunches. The relevance of functional key chains has been a bit reduced with the advent of modern, high security magnetic and electronic swipe cards, which are used increasingly everywhere. These card keys are conveniently hung from the neck or kept in the wallets as they double up as ID cards too.

Key chain uses

Gone are the days when these were the items of bunching keys together. Take a look at what innovative uses are found out for key chains of late.

1. Status symbols: Silver and gold key chains made either plain or by artistically crafting are a matter of status symbol in certain circles. People pride sporting them in parties and social events.

2. ID cards: Large corporations digitalize employee information on their ID cards, which serve as door openers when swiped in the slots. These type of specialized card are normally for security purposes. These key chains/ID cards are usually hung around the neck by the employees.

3. Flash and UV light: These type of key chains a re nickel-cadmium battery operated and have small flashlight basically to locate the keyhole. UV light chains are used for detecting hidden marks made by invisible ink. Examples are currency notes and secret messages passed between detectives.

4. Souvenirs and gifts: Key chains engraved or embossed to mark the occasion of some seminar or college event are proudly distributed as souvenirs by the hosts. Or you can pick a typical one on your holiday to Caribbean islands.

5. Sundry chains: You can have Champagne opener screws, fruit knives, and nail cutters for key chains.

Artistry

Although small in sizes key chains are strong enough to bowl you over by their sheer beauty, funny key chains in acrylic or metals, key chains of comic and popular figures are pieces of artistry.

A little trival question: Do you know why hotel room key chains are abnormally big?

Blaine561 presents: Low Testosterone Women And Low Testosterone In Women Symptoms

Low testosterone women and low testosterone in women symptoms are related to hormone levels in the woman’s body. Testosterone production in a woman is about 10% of the amount typically made by a man. Testosterone is produced primarily in a woman’s ovaries and adrenal glands.

Along with the two other vital hormones – progesterone and estrogen – testosterone production declines as a woman ages. Low testosterone women may experience certain symptoms, the most notable symptom being low libido. However, low testosterone in women can also contribute to depression and osteoporosis.

Harvard-trained family physician Dr. John R. Lee describes his experience with low testosterone women in the book What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Premenopause. He reports that several clinical studies have shown that using a small amount of natural testosterone supplementation may enhance the good effects of the other hormones.

However, Dr. Lee observes that testosterone production depends on sufficient progesterone levels in the body. In the healthy human body, progesterone converts into another form of progesterone, which converts into androstenedione from which testosterone is made. If progesterone levels are too low – common today with women in their 30′s and older – low testosterone in women may be the result. For low testosterone women, Dr. Lee recommends first using natural progesterone cream supplementation for at least six months, using dosages in the same amounts as what the body would normally produce. Dr. Lee found that natural progesterone supplementation often solved the problem of low testosterone women and low libido.

While low testosterone in women is one problem, excessive testosterone can also cause problems. Dr. Lee describes what often happens as women approach menopause and ovarian function slows. Women often show symptoms of becoming androgen dominant, and testosterone supplementation may only make this condition worse. Symptoms of androgen dominance in women include male pattern baldness and facial hair growth.

In addition, an excess of estrogen in the woman’s body can result in the occurance of these same two symptoms. Clearance of testosterone from the body is related to the healthy balance of estrogen and progesterone levels. Too much estrogen slows down the clearance of testosterone, while progesterone enhances testosterone clearance. By staying in the body longer than necessary, testosterone may produce the androgenic characteristics described above. Dr. Lee found that supplementation with natural progesterone cream tended to reverse the androgen dominant characteristics.

Dr. Lee recommends that low testosterone women first use natural progesterone cream supplementation for at least six months. His experience was that frequently no testosterone supplementation was required as natural progesterone corrected the symptoms. He advises that if low libido is still being experienced after doing progesterone supplementation for at least six months, then consider trying a small amount of natural testosterone supplementation – approximately 0.5-2 mg in the mornings. If testosterone supplementation begins to produce facial hair growth and/or male pattern baldness, reduce or discontinue testosterone supplementation.

He recommends using only natural testosterone, not one of the synthetic testosterone drugs that can have undesirable side effects. You will need a doctor’s prescription to obtain natural testosterone which is easily available from compounding pharmacies.

Learn as much as you can about when to use natural hormone supplemention to help stay healthy and free from the symptoms associated with low testosterone in women, and understand the vital role that natural progesterone plays in women’s health.

Blaine561 presents: Women’s Self-Defense Against Men

When looking at the increasing numbers of reports about violence against women, it is clear that women’s self-defense against men is becoming an important issue in today’s society. There are many products and techniques designed for women’s self-defense against men, from mace guns to judo and assertiveness training. Unfortunately, these things are becoming increasingly necessary, and it is essential to stay informed of the most effective strategies for women’s self-defense against men.

Since more and more women are working overtime and at late hours, extra attention should be given to women’s self-defense against men. Dark parking lots are among the most dangerous places, and it is good idea to walk into a parking lot with a special device, such as a small alarm, whistle or light, or where it is legal, a mace gun or stun gun. The mace or stun guns should not be shaped like actual guns, but should be disguised as cell phones, pens or key chains which can be carried by hand without attracting undue attention.

It is important to principle of women’s self defense against men always to look straight ahead and always to appear alert. Potential attackers are always on the lookout for women who seem unaware of their surroundings, so give an impression of confidence.

Before opening your car door, always inspect the inside to ensure that no one is there. A portable flashlight can be useful for this inspection. Make sure your car door is always locked, and, if you unlock your car door with a remote control, avoid locking and unlocking the door too far in advance of your entry. This will prevent someone from crawling into your car.

Women’s self-defense against men is not always focused on strangers, but, more often than not, an attacker is someone the woman knows. Before making the attack, the person usually stalks the woman to find out her habits and where she is the most vulnerable.

It is therefore a good idea to change your route frequently if you jog or walk for exercise. Be on the lookout for people who are watching your activities and make sure that you are aware of potential dangers. Like fire drills, women’s self-defense calls for identifying potential danger spots, so, as you go through your day, look for those places where a person can easily intrude.

Many strategies for women’s self-defense against men include some kind of martial arts training. Although many critics complain that techniques learned in classes can not be adapted well to the street, martial arts give women strength and confidence to be able to ward off an attacker.

There are many varieties of martial arts to choose from, and it is a good idea to experiment with several classes before narrowing down your choice. Popular martial arts courses for women’s self-defense against men include:

• Tae Kwan Do

• Kenpo

• Judo

• Hapkido

• Kung Fu

• Karate

Tae Kwan Do is a good choice for women’s self-defense against men, because it emphasizes punches and kicks that can repel attacks. Akido emphasizes throws and joint locks, which are more aggressive techniques to deal with attackers. Kenpo and Karate were developed through principles of aesthetics and spirituality, as well as a mean s of self-defense. Kung Fu focuses on the movements of five animals: the dragon, tiger, snake leopard and crane. Martial arts give the added benefit of physical fitness and self-confidence to women’s self-defense against men.

The most important principle to remember for effective women’s self-defense against men is confidence. If a woman looks and seems aware and confident, a potential attacker is less likely to approach her, because he knows he will be unlikely to succeed. In addition, if she feels competent, she is far more likely to defend herself well and to prevent an attack.

Blaine561 presents: How To Choose Used Tanning Beds

Do you want the tan from your vacation or holiday to last all year round? Do you love to tan, but can’t fit it into your schedule? You may have considered purchasing tan equipment for home, but then you saw the price. Used tanning beds are a good alternative to the high prices of brand new beds, if you know what to look for. You can get a high quality bed at the price of a much cheaper bed when you buy used.

There are several things to consider before purchasing home tanning equipment. The first is the design of the machine. You have two basic choices here: horizontal beds or tan booths. Many home units are standing units because they require less space. It’s easier to fit one of these into a smaller space.

Lamps in Used Tanning Beds

The lamps in the bed are an important consideration. There are basically two kinds of beds: conventional and high pressure. High pressure beds are generally for commercial use and are often found in salons. The lamps are located only in the top of these beds, so you tan on one side and then turn over to tan the other side of your body and face.

The lamps are called high pressure because the pressure of the gas inside is higher than the pressure in the atmosphere. This design results in faster tanning and less time needed in the bed to maintain your tan. Some high pressure beds require half the sessions of a conventional model. You can have that summer tan all year with less exposure to UV radiation.

Lamps in conventional beds use either UVA only or a combination of UVA and UVB rays. There is some controversy over which is better. UVB rays are the burning rays of the sun. For this reason, some feel UVA only lamps are better. However, UVA rays reach farther into the skin and are responsible for long term skin damage, including skin cancer. It’s important to know what kind of lamps are in your bed, as you will need to replace them.

Check the availability and cost of replacement lamps. Look at the lifespan of the bulbs. Also, look at the construction of the beds. How easy will it be to change the bulbs yourself? It can get expensive and inconvenient if you can’t do the job on your own. Consider how easy it will be to perform other maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and changing the acrylics.

Questions to Ask About Used Tanning Beds

o How old is the bed? oWhat year was it manufactured?

o Does it meet all current FDA regulations? These change often, so make sure the bed you are looking at meets current safety regulations. This is very important for your health. The regulations are in place to help prevent skin cancer and other long term damage to your skin.

o How much was the bed used? If the bed was purchased for home use, but has barely been used, it is probably a good deal.

o Is the bed in good working order? You want to make sure the bed is working well to avoid being stuck with expensive repair bills.

o Is there any time left on the warranty?

o Why are you selling the bed?

o Check the price to see the difference between the used and new bed. The greater the difference, the better the deal.
